Stony Brook Farm: Pet Friendly Cabin in Vermont Near Stowe

Close your eyes.

Now, imagine a winter’s wonderland. I can almost bet that the picture I have below is something that comes to mind either as your first or second image (after big Pine trees covered in snow).

Vermont is one of the few states in the US that I have now visited at least five times and plan on returning to again and again. To say it’s magical during all seasons is an understatement.

The last time my family and I were in Vermont was during the summer months. Which were full of outdoor adventures.

I have been truly hesitant, almost resistant, to visiting Vermont during the winter simply because it’s been over 15 years since I’ve been in winter, and the only memories I have of it are iced-up windshields and shoveling never-ending snow from my driveway.

But my kids, who have never EVER seen snow, have been begging me, so the time had finally arrived.

Not only was I taking my sons, but I was also taking my dog. If I’m going to go for it, I’m going all the way.

Traveling with a pet is literally a whole different ball game. It is crucial to find pet-friendly places.

About Pet-Friendly Vermont Cabin Rentals

Airbnb has a ton of amazing Vermont Cabin Rentals. And that’s exactly how I found our little slice.

My main goal was to be close to both Stowe Mountain Resort and Smugglers Notch Resort because that’s where my parents were staying and that’s where we were going to be skiing and snowboarding.

Not only did we find the cutest cottage on a genuine Vermont farm, that was pet friendly, and great for families, but it was like out of a picture book.

And having perfect snowfall every time helped a WHOLE lot!!!

The owners, Carole and Tom, were super sweet, always on hand, and showed me a little perk (read below) about staying on the property which is a gorgeous farm – Stony Brook Farm.

Stony Brook Farm

Stony Brook Farm, which they call a homestead, is an organic farm. During the summer and fall months, their livestock is more outdoors and is a true blast for kids and adults. I couldn’t stop watching the goats, who knew I even liked goats before my stay here.

I do recommend staying at this lovely cottage, which easily can fit 6 people, with two bedrooms, a full kitchen, and a patio.

If you stay here in the summer and fall months, you can ride bikes all around the country roads and enjoy the magic of Vermont’s foliage.

Plus, having a thermostat that could be adjusted to our needs in that weather was a cool perk.
