The Mayan Riviera is widely known for being a destination in Mexico for people looking for a cool party and time in the sun. 1. Rio Secreto

This is a natural reserve where you will find a series of partially flooded caves that you can explore. So be sure to take your bathing suit, because you can swim after a walk in the cavern. Hiring a trained guide is highly recommended for safety and to get tons of fun information.

2. Scuba Diving

Within the Mayan Riviera you will find Playa del Carmen, it is an extremely popular place among divers because of its crystal clear water and abundant wildlife. There are also a ton of diving shops that rent equipment, give classes and some even offer a certification.

3. Mayan Ruins – Tulum

Tulum is a gorgeous Mayan archaeological site facing the Caribbean Sea is a great landmark in Mexico.. It is said that it is one of the most beautiful cities of the ancient Maya because of its beachfront temples with gorgeous views. For a small fee you can visit the site on your own, you can also get a guided tour.

4. Horseback Riding

There are a few companies that offer guided horseback riding along the surrounding rainforest for small groups. These tours are around 1 or 2 hours long, during that time travelers get to see the local fauna.

5. Beach Bumming

With all the kilometers of gorgeous beaches you can’t come to the Riviera Maya and not spend at least a day at the beach. There are tons of cool hotels in the area that are right there at the beach, and places like Barceló, a beach resort only 35 Km far from the city of Tulum that offer anything you might need for a perfect beach vacation.
