The French Riviera is an essential tourist destination in France. A unique place where you can swim in the sea and ski on the same day.
The French Riviera is the guarantee of a stay filled with beautiful memories, awesome encounters, and unforgettable landscape. As summer approaches, here is a selection of the most beautiful beaches in the region to fully enjoy the French Riviera:
Plages des Sablettes – Menton
An ideal beach for families! Between the Vieux Port and le Port de Garavan, along the old town, the plages des sablettes, with its 350 meters of very fine gravel, will offer you an exceptional panorama of the Italian mountains and the sublime colorful houses of Menton. Public beach or private beach, it’s up to you to choose, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Also enjoy the new facilities of the Esplanade des Sablettes: pergolas, sports facilities, and the brand-new restaurants.
To make the most of this exceptional setting, you can rent a boat to explore the sea and its beautiful landscapes
Plage Paloma – Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat
Once frequented by the Picasso family, Paloma Beach and its emblematic establishment, Paloma Beach, were the stars’ summer rendezvous every year. On the semi-private-public beach of Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, one comes to enjoy the view of the bay of Beaulieu and the cliffs of Eze.
The place also offers many water activities: water skiing, towed buoys, jet skiing…
Plage de la Mala – Cap d’Ail
Often described as the most beautiful beach on the French Riviera: The Mala is a place to be earned!
Following the Azure coast, a blue setting will reveal itself to you. The plage de la Mala, in Cap d’Ail, is breathtaking, surrounded by cliffs that plunge into a sea of turquoise waters. However, the Beach of Mala deserves it. You can access the beach via the stairs next to the illustrious “Eden Palace” – more than 100 steps are waiting for you – or by the coastal path from Gramaglia Cove. This is not necessarily the easiest beach on the French Riviera with young children, but once you get down, you won’t regret it!
Plage de la Gravettes – Antibes
Located between the Vieux Antibes and the Port Vauban, discover this wide sandy beach protected by the magnificent stone ramparts that surround it. La Gravette beach is an ideal beach for families because of its proximity to the city center and its distance from the road. For lunch, the easiest way is to head to Vieux-Antibes, just a few minutes’ walk away, where you will find many snacks and restaurants. Please note that several paid car parks are located nearby.
Plage Notre Dame – Île de Porquerolles
Located in a splendid bay, richly wooded, and bathed in turquoise waters, the plage Notre Dame, on the island of Porquerolles, has been voted the most beautiful beach in Europe. Renowned throughout the world for its fine sand and crystal-clear waters, it allows bathers and sunbathers to enjoy the joys of the coastline sheltered from the mistral and the east wind.
The pretty pinewoods and oak trees that border it offer the possibility to picnic in the shade in this setting that can undoubtedly be described as paradise. Stretching for some 800 meters, the beach sinks very gradually into the sea, which allows you to taste warm waters, at a shallow depth, for about 300 meters.
Plage de la Croisette – Cannes
The plage de la Croisette is one of the most popular in the luxury city and is located at the end of the promenade, before Port Canto. She invites you to sunbathe, swim and take a breath of sea air whenever you want. In summer, the evenings of pyrotechnic shows allow us to appreciate the fireworks fired from the bay of Cannes.
Plage de Portissol – Sanary-sur-Mer
Located close to the city center, the pretty beach of Portissol has everything to please. Its ladders allow divers to explore the seabed and the wind allows surfers to have fun. Sunbathing enthusiasts will enjoy maximum comfort thanks to the mattresses offered for rent. Around the beach, restaurants and cafes are legion which will offer you the opportunity to fill your small pecks and refresh as you wish.
