So, don’t worry, you still can have some fun while in debt. Since we are talking about a trip, managing your debt while traveling is all you need to worry about. But as I know, many questions can come to our head in this kind of situation. That’s why I’m going to clear your mind even more.

Good debts and Bad debts While Traveling

Let’s see, you must be thinking, what is this all about. Good debts? Bad debts? Well, all of this is born from one resolution: traveling, benefits, and needs. What I mean by this is you should be aware of the debt you’re dealing with and how it can affect your traveling experience.

For example, it’s not the same thing if you’re going on a trip with student debt as traveling with a credit card debt. In this case, the good debt is a student loan, it’ll give you benefits long term, and it will not affect directly your trip. The bad debt is obviously a credit card debt since it can affect directly your trip and post-trip. But don’t worry, if you manage it well you sure can travel while in debt.

Can You Be Stopped At Airport For Debt?

NO, you can’t get stopped at the airport for debt, and you can’t get arrested for debt. Talking legally, a debt collector can’t even say they will arrest you.

Legally you can’t get stopped at the airport just because you owe money in some ways. For example, consumer debts or something like that. You should not worry, since getting stopped at an airport can be a form of “getting imprisoned”. And as the Bill Of The Right says, “No person shall be imprisoned for debt…” (Art. III, Sec. 20 ) of the 1987 Charter.

Since nothing at all happens to your debt if you leave the country, you can’t be stopped at the airport for a debt. It’s still your debt. That’s why the best option is to always have monthly payments up to date.

Wrapping Everything up

Debts can be stressful, but they are not the end of the world. A lot of people have debts and many of them have a normal life. You can travel while in debt, you just need to manage and organize everything.

  • Manage and Organize everything
  • Set a monthly plan for your payments.
  • Research your travel expenses
  • Have fun and don’t worry!
