But you should know that there’s more to do in Las Vegas than sit at a slot machine or a blackjack table.Hanging out in Vegas casinos can be fun, but so many other cool ways to spend your time. Here are 10 things to do in Vegas without gambling.

Studies have shown that only about 12 percent of the people who travel to Las Vegas these days do so to gamble. The other 88 percent visit Las Vegas for everything else the city has to offer.

Here are the top 10 things to do in Vegas that don’t involve gambling.

Top 10 Things to Do in Vegas

1. Walk Up and Down the Las Vegas Strip

You’ve probably seen the Las Vegas Strip a million and one times on TV shows and in movies. But until you’ve walked up and down it and experienced it for yourself, you haven’t really seen what it’s all about.

Whether you’re staying in a hotel on the Strip or not, you should make your way down to Las Vegas Boulevard and take it all in from the ground level. You can pop in and out of casinos all along the way to see what makes each one unique.

2. Ride on the High Roller Observation Wheel

Do you want to experience Las Vegas from a different angle?

Climb into one of the glass-enclosed cabins on the High Roller observation wheel at The LINQ Hotel & Casino. It stands at more than 550 feet high and will show you a side of Vegas you haven’t seen before.

You can take some epic photos when you reach the top of the observation wheel, which is actually the tallest observation wheel in the entire world.

3. Catch the Fountains of Bellagio Show

The Bellagio is one of the most famous casinos on the Las Vegas Strip, and it’s due in large part to the Fountains of Bellagio show that takes outside of the casino on a regular basis.

You should make it a point to catch at least one of the Fountains of Bellagio shows when you’re in town. Here is the schedule for the show:

  • From Monday through Friday, there is a show every half hour between 3 and 8 p.m. and every 15 minutes between 8 p.m. and 12 a.m.
  • On Saturdays and holidays, there is a show every half hour between 12 and 8 p.m. and every 15 minutes between 8 p.m. and 12 a.m.
  • On Sunday, there is a show every half hour between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Even if you’ve seen the Fountains of Bellagio show on TV, there’s nothing quite like experiencing it in person.

4. Watch One of the Other Amazing Las Vegas Shows

If you enjoy watching shows, there is no better place to catch a show than in Las Vegas.

Whether you want to see “Mr. Las Vegas” himself (that’s Wayne Newton, for those who might not know!) or check out Lady Gaga’s Las Vegas residency, there are tickets available to tons of shows. It’s worth catching at least one of them during your time in Vegas.

5. Test Drive an Exotic Car

If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush, you’ll find it at the roulette or craps table. But you’ll also find it at one of the racetracks in the area offering test drives in exotic cars.

Test out a Ferrari, a Lamborghini, or another exotic car and see how it handles the curves on a racetrack. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that you won’t soon forget.

6. Tour the Hoover Dam

There is so much to see and do while you’re in Las Vegas. You can spend a year inside the city and never get bored.

But there are also a few things surrounding the city that are worth checking out if you have the time. For example, you can take a tour of the nearby Hoover Dam, which is located about 30 to 40 minutes outside of Vegas.

It’ll offer you the chance to step outside the hustle and bustle of Vegas for a few hours while seeing something that you never thought you would see in person.

7. Take a Helicopter Ride Over the Grand Canyon

The Hoover Dam isn’t the only sight to see outside of Las Vegas. Certain parts of the Grand Canyon are also located within driving distance of Sin City.

Additionally, you can opt to take a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon if you’d like to experience it that way. You’ll be blown away by how majestic and magical the Grand Canyon looks from high up in the sky.

8. Visit a Las Vegas Dispensary

Medical and recreational marijuana are both legal in Las Vegas. There are dispensaries all over town where you can partake in it if you’d like.

9. Check Out the Neon Museum

Have you ever wondered what happens to the bright-neon signs that dot the Las Vegas Strip when they’re taken out of commission?

The majority of them end up in the Neon Museum. You can take a walk through it to see some of the signs that have helped identify the different places around town over the years. It’ll give you a good oversight of the history of Las Vegas.

10. Snap a Photo Next to the “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” Sign

If you go to Las Vegas and don’t take a photo next to the infamous “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign, did you really get the full Las Vegas experience?

We would argue no, which is why you should make sure it’s somewhere on your Vegas to-do list. You should definitely take either a group photo with your family and friends or a selfie next to the sign.
