As the nights start to draw in during November, there are plenty of firework displays going off that help to light up the night sky for Bonfire Night and beyond! This a great time to go out and explore the city streets of London because lots of the local boroughs are putting up their Christmas lights and decorations that truly make the streets sparkle with life! Best things to do if you go for a visit on November.Take a look at my list of the things to do in London during England travel.
London Christmas lights
One of the most anticipated events of the month is going to see the Regent Street Christmas lights that go up in early November. Christmas lights really add a seasonal air to the many Festive markets and ice rinks that appear at this time of year.
Don’t miss the annual Regent Street Motor Show – the largest FREE motor show in the country featuring everything from classic to futuristic cars! There is also fantastic music to enjoy during the EFG London Jazz Festival happening at venues all across the city. There is so much going on in London during the build-up to Christmas – you will never get bored with what’s on offer!
Remembrance Sunday events
Don’t forget that November is the month for honoring those who fell during the wars. There are special Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday events and services held in London that you can take part in. for example, a special Silence in the Square event takes place every year on 11 November in Trafalgar Square.
On Remembrance Sunday, a service and parade takes place at the Cenotaph in Whitehall attended by the Queen and other notable representatives. The parade and commemorations often lead to major road closures around the city, so check beforehand if you are planning to travel anywhere during this time.
Don’t forget to see The Lord Mayor’s Show on the 10th November! An 800 year old procession not to be missed!
