You could probably think of a million things to do to keep busy while on vacation. But when you have kids, you have to think about their interests as well. After all, we don’t want our kids to get bored when we are trying to have fun and relax. Why spend a day visiting just another nature walk, when you and your little ones could go on an adventure like no other? Their faces will light up when you tell them that you are taking them to Jurassic Park to see the dinosaurs. And, while there are a lot of excellent choices, here are three of the best dinosaur parks in UK.
Best Dinosaur Parks in the UK
Roarr Dinosaur Adventure
Roarr Dinosaur Adventure is located in Norfolk, and it is considered to be one of the largest adventure parks in the country. Its greatest feature is the dinosaur trail which meanders through a wooded area filled with life-sized dinosaurs. The park features life-size animatronic dinosaur replicas that make you feel as if you have actually stepped back in time to the Triassic period when dinosaurs still roamed the earth. The adventure park also includes a dinosaur dig, a maze, high ropes, and countless other attractions that will keep you busy all weekend long.
There are several excellent cottages to stay in nearby Brampton. In the area surrounding the adventure park, you will find places like BeWILDerwood, the Blickling Estate, Wroxham Barns, as well as the beautiful beaches along the Norfolk coast.
Paradise Wildlife Park
While most of the dinosaurs at the Roarr Dinosaur Adventure Park are stationary, Paradise Wildlife Park is known for their animatronics. Located in Hertfordshire, the first thing anyone would notice is the humongous entrance gate to the park – which is reminiscent of the entrance to Jurassic Park. To make the experience even more realistic, they even have a Jeep allowing every visitor to recreate that infamous scene where a Tyrannosaurus rex chased the characters through the park. There is also a dinosaur-themed railway, a dinosaur dig pit, and an entire zoo with lions, tigers, and even one of the largest anacondas in the United Kingdom.
Those visiting the park can either stay in Ashwell, or in nearby London. But don’t worry, there are plenty of other things to do while you are in Hertfordshire, such as checking out the Natural History Museum, the Wood Sculpture Trail, as well as Warner Bros. Studio.
Knebworth House
As if one dinosaur-themed adventure park in Hertfordshire wasn’t enough, after you have spent an entire day at Paradise Wildlife Park, you can then make your way to the Knebworth House. This sprawling and beautiful country estate provides every visitor with plenty of things to do and see. The most popular attraction on the estate is the dinosaur adventure trail. The trail features 72 life-sized dinosaurs. There are informational plaques next to each of the dinosaurs along the trail, complete with sound boxes that you can wind up to hear the dinosaur roar.
If you really want to make an impact on your little one’s mind and inspire them to dream bigger, then spending a weekend at a dinosaur-themed park is a perfect choice. Let them wander, interact, explore, and challenge their minds. Create a memory that will last a lifetime.
