A huge prerequisite for me when visiting any part of the world is to always taste the local food and drink. Every single country has something that is extra special for either the country, city or town that you visit and in Colombia there are so many that I had a blast tasting many. My absolute favorite as one of the Colombian drinks was Salpicon.
John, my private guide from Colombian Travel Operator, during my Medellin City Tour invited me for a taste.
Plus, I love outside street food vendors, to me the food is always more local and homemade (almost feels like it is specially made just for you), and that’s exactly what we had on top of Pueblita Paisa.
Salpicon Colombia, One of the Yummiest Drinks
Salpicón is usually served cold and is LOADED with freshly chopped fruit. The fruit varies from vendor to vendor but usually, it is watermelon, papaya, strawberries, pineapple, oranges, apples, bananas. Normally, I think, carbonated soda is used, but for the one I had it wasn’t gaseous, and I loved that. I don’t like anything carbonated. It’s served it with a spoon to eat the fruit than drink the juice and it is so filling. Luckily, I didn’t eat breakfast before being picked up and this was the perfect morning treat.
Video Fun
Though not my area of expertise but seems like tasteful, plus the boy has maintained his hut well!
The drink sounds so delicious with all the fruit! Fun video too! Thanks for sharing!
