If you prefer to just see where the road takes you then you should ensure that you have a reliable GPS system with you. This is a good idea even if you have planned your route; it’s always best to be prepared for eventualities such as getting lost. Having a GPS system with you makes this less likely.

7. Think about accommodation

If you have planned your route, it’s a good idea to book accommodation in advance. Driving can be tiring and you need to make sure you have a place to rest.

8. Do not overload your car.

You should always check the maximum load for your car, so you do not pack too much. Aside from anything else, it’s also much easier to travel as light as possible.

9. What is the weather like?

It’s never a good idea to just assume you know what the weather is going to be like, in the places you want to visit. You need to know if you are likely to encounter any adverse weather conditions.

10. Keeping kids entertained

If you are taking children on the trip, you need to make sure you have plenty of games, videos, and books on board, to keep them entertained throughout the journey.
