Nalgene BPA Free Bottles and Lunch Box Review

nalgene review - bpa free water bottles

Eight years ago I discovered Nalgene company. I bought one of their original water bottles that are BPA-free and back then they had a small selection but a good one. It was time for renewing our water bottle stash and, this time around, when I went back to them, I was thoroughly impressed with how much they have grown and all they have to offer.

Launch Box Line by Nalgene

Firstly, they don’t only sell water bottles anymore, but a lot more. The first thing I eyed out was their lunch box line -the Lunch Box Buddy. My kids are constantly destroying theirs because they are flimsy and not built to last. Knowing the reputation of Nalgene, I know that this will not only last but has enough space for all my son’s food. Including an adjustable ice pack.

You can flip the lid and use it as a plate and it’s easily washable in the sink or dishwasher.

Next, I noticed their Travel section, which wasn’t around back when I bought our first bottles from them.

And being a Travel writer and an avid traveler, I had to check out their Travel Kit with leak-proof bottles and bags.

Choosing the Right Nalgene BPA Free Bottles

I went with two options. A while back my husband owned an incredible canteen-style water bottle and during our trip to Spain, he left it at one of the climbing gyms and has been pouting about it ever since. So, to surprise him, I got him this gorgeous 32 oz Oasis style bottle.

Next was for my son. Driving in Antigua, Guatemala where we live is a real challenge. The entire town is made up of cobblestone, so going with the original style water bottle which is wide-mouth does nothing but spill more water in the car than getting into my kid’s mouths. So I decided to go with the 32 oz Narrow Mouth model.

Just so you know, there are so many different colors and designs, you can please every single family member of age, sex, and size!

These bottles are so easy to work with, clean, and never have any after flavor.

About Nalgene the Company

It all started in the 1940s when Chemist Emanuel Goldberg developed the first plastic pipette jars and founded the Nalgene Company. During the 1960s they were used by scientists who were also big into hiking. Because they were leak-proof and lightweight they worked perfectly.

In the 70s, the Carry-In/Carry Out trend emerged when conservationists began discouraging campers from a common disposal practice of burning or burying cans and glass containers and that’s when the company really started growing.

They are a company that truly believes in leaving NO footprints and helping it become an easy way for their customers and buyers.
