Hilton Garden Inn Vermont: Our Room, Facts and Photos

Burlington, Vermont must be one of the cutest, most quaint New England cities we’ve visited so far. And one of the best ways to experience it is to be central so that you are walking distance from all the fun stuff it has to offer. So when searching for a hotel in Burlington, it is key to have one right in the heart of it all. That’s why I stayed at Hilton Garden Inn Vermont in Burlington.

When I say in the heart of it all, I am mainly speaking about Lake Champlain, Church Street promenade, Main Street and Vermont University (these are just some of the places you’ll enjoy while visiting).

From my thorough search, the Hilton Garden Inn Burlington came up over and over again. Due to its location and also the high ratings it got on many review sites. Plus the fact it had a pool, sealed the deal for us.

Why the Hilton Garden Inn Vermont is a Great Family Hotel in the Heart of Burlington

Interesting and fun facts – this particular Hilton Inn is one of the newest hotels in Burlington, in one of the oldest buildings of Burlington.

The main building was an Armory from 1904, hence the name of their main restaurant – Armory Grille and Bar. The main hotel is a new building right behind, attached to the old Armory one.

1. Driving – I’ll confess, I really dislike driving and being in a car. The least we use the car when in a location the better it for us. So when we dropped off the car with the Valet of the hotel (the only way to park your car for $16.99 per day) I was completely relieved to realize I won’t have to look at it again until we leave Burlington.

2. Family Friendly – Most hotels are family friendly, however, not all have pools to entertain the kids. Even though Burlington is a great walking city, kids aren’t as eager about checking out cafe’s, shops and restaurants especially if walking is involved. So bribing them with plenty of pool time worked wonders.

3. Convenience – the hotel is located on Main Street which is literally the main street of Burlington. Everything is within a five minute walk. Church Street is the most popular street in terms of that it’s a pedestrian promenade with tons of cafe’s, restaurants, bars and shops to stroll past or enjoy.

With kids the most fun is the waterfront which is less than three blocks. Lake Champlain truly amazed us over and over again while we visited this gorgeous state.

And a stroll to University of Vermont’s campus is really interesting. Founded in 1791, the campus is beautiful and so green in the summertime.

We had the double queen room.

It came with a fridge and microwave, which to me is necessary. Kids always get hungry or thirsty or both at the most unusual times. So having a place to have supplies to keep them happy worked great for us.

Aside having a full entertainment center with free wifi, we had a spacious desk as well.
