Today we’re going to be talking about Hector’s Bistro in Antigua, Guatemala. Are you guys ready for an adventure? Let’s begin.
Hector’s Bistro is this lovely restaurant that first started out with this teeny tiny little French-style restaurant that only had maybe like three tables.

Hector’s Bistro, Antigua
It was actually owned by a man named Hector, and he sold it and the people that bought it moved it to a much larger space. So now it’s got this gorgeous courtyard where you could sit and also inside as well.
The menu still captures a lot of the original Hector’s Bistro, like the French cuisine, but they also have now added on that it’s not just like that, because before, Hector’s Bistro was more for, I would say for couples or for adults, and now it’s much more open to families.
They have pizza as well. On top of the original food, which is like beef bourguignon and quiches and all this other stuff.
There are a few vegetarian options. It’s mainly not a vegetarian-style restaurant, but it is a really lovely place, especially now with a courtyard.
They have a bar inside there where you could order different guatemalan drinks and others. So it’s more of a fun place to hang out and enjoy the courtyard, and the food is well done. It’s a rare thing that those types of restaurants do have tasty dishes and that you could have quite a lot to choose from.
So I do recommend that, if you have the time, it’s a very popular spot. The food is not super expensive, so you can have a lot of options. And it’s a great place to bring your kids as well, because of the pizzas and the more kid friendly places to eat.
