Rather than indulging every single meal, you should try to make a few smart choices throughout the day.  Try to incorporate some fresh salads or fruits along with high fat or fried foods. 

In the mornings you may want to consider having a smoothie or freshly squeezed juice so that you can get your daily dose of vitamins while also enjoying something delicious. 

Although vacation is a time for bending the rules, particularly when it comes to what you eat and drink, indulging the entire time may put your immune system at risk. You’re better off trying to find a suitable balance.  

Wash Your Hands Regularly 

One of the easiest ways to get sick while traveling is by picking up germs through your hands.  Each time that you touch a doorknob or railing which hundreds of hands touch every day, you’re putting yourself at risk for contracting bacteria. 

Try to wash your hands several times a day and avoid putting your hands on your mouth.  Carrying around a bottle of antibacterial solution is a great way to keep your hands clean even when you’re not around running water.  

Get Plenty Of Sleep 

Sleep is something which a lot of people take for granted as being a crucial part of staying healthy.  Every time that you sleep your body is able to regenerate cells and restore itself in ways that it cannot do in an awoken state. 

Try to make an effort of getting eight hours of sleep at least three times a week.  You’ll feel more refreshed, and your vacation will be much more enjoyable.  Even though you may want to squeeze in as many activities as possible, you should make sure that you schedule in enough time for sleep as well.  

Limit Alcohol Consumption 

Vacations are a time to have fun and kick back.  For many, this means enjoying alcohol during your trip.  However, if you drink too much, you’ll end up feeling exhausted at the end of your travels. 

Instead of feeling like you had a vacation, you’ll come home feeling like you need another vacation.

Bringing some extra vitamin supplements during your trip is a great way to guard yourself against germs you may pick up along the way.  Strengthening your immune system is one of the best ways to stay out of harm’s way.
