Why not change it up this year and go somewhere new and exciting? Checking out some affordable vacation packages, I found many fun destinations, you’ll trade in those lazy beach days for adventure and a whole new level of exploration. 1. U.S. Space & Rocket Center

Pack up the family and head to Huntsville, Alabama to visit the U.S. Space & Rocket Center – the largest spaceflight museum in the U.S. The museum hosts several science-based camps for the kids, including Space Camp.

The museum is open to the public, where everyone can see the collection of rockets and ride the simulators.

2. City Museum

Located in St. Louis, Missouri, the City Museum is fun for kids of all ages. The 600,000-square-foot factory was transformed into the museum that stands today, which features found objects.

The museum is an urban playground where kids can slide down a 10-story slide, ride a Ferris wheel or crawl through suspended tunnels.

When you’re done monkeying around, you can head over to the Gateway Arch, where you can take a ride to the top of the U.S.’s tallest monument.

3. Monument Valley

Head West to Monument Valley, located in the Colorado Plateau near the Four Corners area. The valley is situated in Navajo Nation Reservation and features several sandstone buttes – some of which reach as high as 1,000 feet.

Home to the tallest waterfall in the United States, California’s Yosemite National Park offers stunning scenery and excellent camping opportunities. And if camping isn’t your thing, you can book cabins and deluxe rooms right in the park, which offer more comfortable accommodations.

Yosemite’s giant sequoia trees and giant rock formations – like El Capitan and Half Dome – make this national park a must-see.

America’s first national park is home to some incredible wonders that your family won’t want to miss. Yellowstone has more than 10,000 hydrothermal features, including hot springs, mud pots, and geysers. There are nearly 300 waterfalls in the park and an abundance of wildlife, including elk, bison, moose, and bears.

The park spans more than 3,000 square miles, so every day is sure to be a new adventure.

6. Dinosaur Valley State Park

Do your kids love dinosaurs? At Dinosaur Valley State Park near Fort Worth, Texas, the kids can see where these giants once roamed. Explore the tracks along the riverbed and view the wildlife that still calls this part of the state home.

The park is also a great place to go geocaching and fishing, so there’s something for everyone. And if you’re adventurous, you can take your own horse through the South Primitive Area, which spans 100 acres.

Camping is allowed, so the family can sleep on the same ground where dinosaurs once roamed.
