Europe Travel – 4 Beautiful Weekend Break Spots in the UK

Been itching for a break from the stress of work? Most vacations seem too expensive and out of the way for the average person. Also, going abroad is not something everyone has on their radars. Some are stopped by their fear of flying, while others can’t afford to take more than a weekend off of work. Whatever the case, a vacation is something everyone deserves, and it doesn’t have to be anything fancy to be relaxing.Four of my favorite spots for a fun weekend break in the UK.Take a look at a list of weekend break spots in the UK during Europe travel.

Weekend Break Spots in the UK

If you are feeling overwhelmed and don’t know where to go for some R&R, try looking within your nation, or even in local places around your hometown. And if you can’t bear to go anywhere without your furry companion, you can search for pet-friendly spots by using the Dog Friendly Retreats search engine.

Wherever you live in the UK, there are bound to be relaxing places to visit nearby. There’s no shame in taking a road trip to the next town to get a change of scenery or taking a visit to Ireland. Whatever your reason for taking a break, here are some of the best spots in the UK to do so.

1. Bath

Bath is a beautiful city located in Somerset County, England. This city is known for its Roman bathhouses, many of which are still in operation today. Bath is the perfect place to relax your body and mind. As well as having a famous spa, the city is also surrounded by hills, which offer beautiful views of the city and nature.

The city is filled with Roman-inspired architecture, making it a must-visit location for those who enjoy walking through old-fashioned European style cities. There is an amazing cathedral in the town center that draws tourists from around the world, as well as over 100 restaurants and shops.

2. Forest of Dean

For those who enjoy the outdoors, the Forest of Dean offers plenty of opportunities to get up close and personal with nature. There is the beautiful River Wye, where you can enjoy kayaking, canoeing, or just boating along. There are also fields for picnics and hiking. The forest is the second largest Crown Forest in all of England – maybe you’ll even catch a royal family member hunting while you walk!

During the winter, there are plenty of cabins for rent in the area, allowing couples to relax by the fire while the snow surrounds them. Looking out over the snow-capped trees offers a stunning view.

3. Brighton

What’s more relaxing than a weekend at the beach? You don’t need to go to a tropical island to enjoy the beach lifestyle – Brighton offers one of the best beaches in the UK. Let loose at the carnival on the pier, or head to the city where you’ll find tons of shopping centers and restaurants for you to enjoy a night out on the town.

The city also has a rich cultural history, which means that there are plenty of interesting tours and sites to see. On your break, take a trip to the magnificent Royal Pavilion or catch the latest show at the Brighton Dome.

4. Scottish Highlands

For the most top-notch scenery within the United Kingdom, look no further than the Scottish Highlands. The stunning landscape stretches out in all directions – mountains, lakes, and valleys as far as the eye can see. In the highlands, there are various cities to visit, if you prefer something more urban. There are also country towns where you’ll find a quiet, relaxing atmosphere to enjoy your weekend away.

There are national parks to hike in, mountains to ski, and plenty of lakes to dive into. The Scottish Highlands are also home to the infamous Loch Ness, where you might catch a glimpse of the fabled monster (keep your camera ready just in case!).

We all need a little break every now and then – no matter where you decide to spend the weekend, just being away from the hustle and bustle of daily life is sure to be a relaxing experience.
