Activities

But there are a lot of different things that you could do. There’s a canopy tour. You can go rock climbing. You could also go and see the caves. That is something that I remember when I came here over 20 years ago, where the caves were. It’s also a big park where you could park your car, and you could have a picnic.

The Caves

We went to the caves. The caves are less than a dollar per person to go and check out. It’s not a lot to see. It’s like, 400 meters, the entire caves, but they overlook this canyon, this huge cave formation. Not only that, but it’s also where you can see people rock climbing, and you can go and take a boat ride.

The cave is done very safely, so it’s for all levels. We were seeing people of all ages, I’m talking up to, like, 80 years old and flip-flops walking around in there. So you could easily do it and get a really cool experience of the caves. Also after that, you can walk around there on little mini hikes and hanging bridges.

How to Get There?

It is about 20 minutes outside of San Cristobal de las Casas centro. Super easy to get to. You could take a collective, or you could take a taxi that’s like $7 each way to get there. It’s a really fun half a day out tour or day trip from San Cristobal de las Casas.
