This is, in my opinion, the last true Colonial City in Central America. It was founded in 1592 and has had to be rebuilt several times due to earthquakes. Antigua was the capital for the whole Central American territory during colonial times.

Locals make hard work at preserving its original beauty. This work paid off when it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
