4 Top Places to See on a Camper van Trip in Australia
1. The Great Barrier Reef
This barrier reef is the largest living thing in the world. I don’t think I would forgive myself if we traveled to Australia and not check it out. It should be on everyone’s list of the must-visit places during a Camper van road trip in Australia.
It is made of 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands, and tours like scuba diving and cruising are available from many companies. So you definitely get the chance to truly enjoy and learn from it.
2. Karijini National Park
Now, this is a place you can’t miss if you are taking a trip along the opposite side of the country (west). It is of particular interest to my family because my husband and sons love climbing and there are some great rock walls here.
You will also find tons of waterfalls and water holes where you can have fun with the family. It’s a great spot for cruising around in your motor home hire.

3. Gibb River Road
This is a former cattle road that you can visit for an off the beaten path experience in Australia. It goes through some of the most remote areas of Western Australia. So if you are an adventurer, this is definitely for you.
But keep in mind that it is often closed during the rainy season, so don’t try to get there from November to March.
4. Sydney Harbor Bridge
This one is nowhere close to being as adventurous as the previous three, but I think that driving along the Sydney Harbor Bridge and stopping for a while to appreciate the beauty of the iconic Sydney Opera House is something that we can’t miss.
