Best Websites to Offer Your Services as a Graphic Designer

Web pages like the Ice Casino login page did not happen by chance. Someone made them, and that someone is a graphic designer like you. It is a tad difficult to find a job today, so what you can do is what we call freelancing.

Not all freelance sites are made equal, and most of them vary in their fees. In addition, there are sites that specialize in graphic arts work, and then there are general sites. Today, we will show you the best freelance platforms you can join as a graphic designer.

1. Fiverr

Fiverr is one of the biggest freelance platforms in the world. The fee is typically 20% of the project cost. What makes Fiverr different is that it does not use a bidding system. Instead, you will post your service like it is a product. This is called a gig.

Customers use the search bar to find gigs. If they like your gig, they can immediately place an order. For graphic arts, they may contact you first.

To use Fiverr, you have to create a seller profile. After that, you create your gigs. There is a limit to the number of gigs you can make. You put your price ranges in them and also your portfolio.

Since Fiverr does not operate through a bidding structure, you must ensure that your profile outshines the profile of other providers. If you could, add as many art samples as possible — make sure you brand or watermark them so others will not copy your images for their own profiles.

2. Upwork

Upwork is also one of the biggest marketplaces for freelancers. It uses a bidding process, and each bid is called a “connect.” You only have a limited number of bids, so you have to use them wisely.

At Upwork, what you have to do is build a profile that your potential clients can see. Once you have created your profile, the next step is to look for jobs.

If there is a job you like, you must place a bid. You have a choice to bid per project or per milestone. A milestone means you will receive payment at certain intervals or stages of the project. A per-project bid means you only get paid once the project is over.

There are two types of jobs you can find on Upwork: the first one is a project type, and the second is an hourly-basis kind of work.

For jobs that pay by the hour, you must ensure that you charge per hour. If the client hires you, you must use the Upwork log-in system when you work. This time tracker will also take screenshots of your desktop as long as you are logged in.

3. 99 Designs

As the name implies, 99Designs is a freelance marketplace dedicated to art. The goal of the company is to bridge the gap between businesses and designers.

Here are the services you can offer on this platform:

● Logo and branding;

● Website and app design or art;

● Business and advertising design;

● Illustrations;

● Packaging labels.

There are so many designs that you can choose from. It is up to you if you want to do all of them. It is free to join 99Designs, but the fees vary according to the project. One of the best things about the site is that you can get paid in as little as three days after the client releases the payment.

4. Freelancer

Freelancer is a huge platform for freelancers. It gobbled up several freelance marketplaces in the past, and it was how it became the biggest freelance marketplace globally.

It works like Upwork, where you have to place bids to get jobs. There is also a limit to how many bids you can make. Freelancer, however, requires that you pay a monthly fee to stay on the platform.

One thing that you will not like about Freelancer is that the quality of clients here is at the low end of the market. They want high-quality art for a few bucks. Despite that, it is still one of the best because there are millions of clients that use the platform.

What you can do to earn is create a profile and portfolio. Your portfolio should contain images and artwork that you made from free tools like Canva. If you do this, you can charge as little as $5 for each piece of artwork and then just do the art on the Canva tool.

Freelancing is not as easy as it seems. You are competing against so many people globally. Once you create a profile, make sure that you include a portfolio of your work. Watermark your portfolio with your name so people will not copy it. Lastly, place your bids wisely. Do not bid on random projects! Bid only on projects that pay well.
