Want to lounge on a spotless beach as you sip a cold beverage? Then Thailand it is. This country appeals to everyone, from foodies to monastic enlightenment seekers. Here are some 5 top destinations to explore in the country.

Bangkok
Some people come here for the food. Others want to explore the temples. The majority simply stop here before proceeding to other regions of the country. Just make sure you don’t bypass Bangkok. Otherwise, you will miss out.
This vibrant city is about having a good time. It has some of the best street food, allowing you to savor every flavor. Even better, it features amazing Michelin-starred restaurants. These offer tasting menus at a fraction of the price in Europe.
Bangkok also has a fantastic hotel scene. It features sophisticated rooftop and riverfront bars, backpacker hangouts, and five-star resorts. You will also spot floating markets with longtail boats selling flowers, fruit, and vegetables.

Phuket
This is Thailand’s largest and most visited island. Beaches are one of the top attractions in Phuket. Talk of fine white sands, palms, and crystal-clear waters. Actually, it boasts over thirty breathtaking beaches. Two of these have been featured in high-profile Hollywood productions.
Additionally, the island offers just the right amount of nightlife. The Phuket Show is available every day except Tuesday. It provides an outstanding introduction to Thai history and Phuket culture.
The main Thai show starts at 8:30 PM and lasts a whopping 80 minutes, featuring over 100 performers with lavish costumes. Even better are the sets and unique staging. Truly, this is a ‘must-see’ spectacle.
Chiang Mai
This was once the capital of the Northern Lanna dynasty. It hosts over 300 temples, including:
- The Doi Suthep temple is popular for its breathtaking views.
- Wat Suan Dok is a cemetery for the ashes of Chiang Mai’s old royal family.
- Wat Chedi Luang is a beautiful weather-beaten temple founded in 1385. It is conveniently located in the heart of the Old Town.
- Wat Phra Singh hosts the Lion Buddha. It sparkles in the sunlight with its golden stupas.
Generally, Chiang Mai is an excellent starting point for exploring the nearby region. It includes mountains, caverns, and waterfalls. This may require at least three days of your vacation.

Koh Phangan
This is the third-largest national park in Thailand. As such, it features a large number of residences, hotels, retail stores, and amusement parks.
People of all ages may have hours of fun in the area. There are many hiking trails there that are suitable for everyone. You will also appreciate its breathtaking fauna and cool waterfalls. Monkeys, bears, elephants, and leopards are all included in this.
