Belize might look like a tiny country, but don’t let its size fool you. It has tons of great places to visit, fun things to do, and amazing hotels, so you might be wondering what to visit. And where to stay in Belize? This is also the only Central American country where English is the official language. Here are the best places to stay in Belize with my favorite hotels.
If you have never been to Belize, it might be a bit complicated to pick the areas you want to visit. So, after visiting this small country a couple of times with my family I came up with some suggestions about great areas to visit and hotels for your vacation in Belize.
Where Is The Best Place To Stay In Belize?
1. Ambergris Caye
Belize’s highlights are the beaches and small islands in the middle of the Caribbean Sea. One of those islands and the largest one is Ambergris Caye. This is where you will find a wider variety of hotels and services.
Luxury travel in Belize is easy with so many amazing options.
Here are some great lodging suggestions for Ambergris Caye:
A. Belizean Cove States – If you are looking for a luxurious vacation, this is the hotel for you. It offers luxurious condos and all the services of the best resorts.
B. Blue Tang Hotel – This hotel is smaller and located on a lonely beach, away from all the noise.
2. Caye Caulker
Caye Caulker is another of the islands of Belize. This is a much quieter place where you can enjoy a private and relaxed vacation in a beautiful setting. A couple of great hotels of Caye Caulker are:
Caye Reef – This is a hotel where you get to choose between beautiful rooms and apartments. They can also arrange tours that include lots and lots of fun in the water.
3. Hopkins Village
Hopkins village is a tiny-laid back town where you can find people from the unique Garifuna culture. Known as “The Friendliest Village in Belize” it has a good restaurant and a couple of hotels you might want to check out if you visit this village:
A. All Season’s Guest House – This is just a beachfront building that has 3 fully furnished apartments. The best option if you are looking for privacy.
B. Beaches and Dreams – In this hotel you will find cute, wooden cabins. They are more than happy to arrange kayaking tours for free.
4. Placencia
Continuing with the theme of beaches, there is Placencia. This is not an island but it is a great place for nature lovers. Here you can explore the mangroves and the nearby reefs.
My family’s favorite hotel in Placencia was:
Laru Beya Resort – This hotel offers fully furnished condos with two rooms and a kid-friendly swimming pool.
These are some of the best hotels in Belize for my family. I can highly recommend them for family vacations, but they might also be great for all travelers.
