What should you carry in your car all the time?

First Aid Kit

A first aid kit is a no-brainer when it comes to preventing disaster. Whether you need a bandied, an aspirin, or full-on gauze and stitches, a first aid kit can hold whatever you need. This first aid kit contains a total of 300 items, including:

  • Bandage strips
  • Eye pads
  • Sterile sponges and gauze rolls
  • Alcohol and iodine wipes
  • Latex-free gloves
  • A cold compress
  • Tweezers
  • Safety pins
  • A tourniquet
  • And more

This first aid kit will get you through any minor injuries and incidents. It’s a good idea to have on hand even if you think you won’t use it. You never know when something is going to happen to you or someone you come across.

Protein Coffee

Protein coffee is the perfect snack, breakfast, or morning coffee to give you a jump start. Protein coffee from Maine Roast is a great option because they use real roasted coffee beans to make their protein drink. Try out Complete Nutrition. I really like their taste!

It’s the perfect drink to get you going in the morning, tide you over to avoid an afternoon crash and is a great alternative to sugary or salty snacks from cafeterias or vending machines.

There are a lot of benefits of drinking protein coffee, including alertness, workout recovery, and weight loss. Keeping protein coffee in my car means that I always have a healthy alternative if I need an afternoon snack or if I’m running late and don’t have time to make breakfast.

Spare Clothing

Have you ever spilled food or drinks on your shirt and been stuck, wearing sticky or stained clothing for the rest of the day? A spare set of clothes, either for work or for casual outings, can help you stay comfortable or look professional even after the biggest spills.

When you choose spare clothing to put in your car, choose a set of clothing that would be appropriate for the situation (work, visiting friends or family, hiking, etc.). Try to choose an outfit that you don’t love. After all, it’ll be sitting in your car and you won’t wear it often. However, try to pick something that you also wouldn’t be embarrassed to be seen in.

Roadside Emergency Kit

This one is more of a practical item like the first aid kit. A roadside emergency kit can help make small repairs on your vehicle or flag down help if your car breaks down.

This roadside emergency kit contains 64 items to help you out in a pinch. These items include jumper cables, a small roll of duct tape, a rain poncho, zip ties, a flashlight, batteries, and more.

With this kit, you’ll be able to handle any minor inconvenience that may otherwise leave you stranded. Preparing yourself with this emergency kit is an especially good idea if you live in a more rural area or somewhere with harsh weather.

Phone Charger

A phone charger with a car adapter can be your saving grace. If you’re using your phone for GPS, to call or text someone when you arrive, or just to keep you sane on a road trip, a phone charger in your car will keep your phone from dying when you need it most.

A lot of cars now have USB ports, so you can plug your charger right into that. In older cars, you may need an adapter to plug into the cigarette lighter, but those could be found pretty cheap at most gas stations. Do yourself a favor and buy an extra charger to always carry in your car to save yourself from being stranded without it.

Water Bottle

A water bottle is essential whether you’re heading out on a road trip or you’re simply driving to work. This water bottle from Kool8 is the best on the market today. Its double-walled steel design makes for a sleek and sturdy option to bring drinks with you while avoiding the waste of single-use bottles.

Kool8 can keep your beverages hot or cold for hours. So, whether you’re bringing coffee or iced tea, Kool8 is your go-to bottle. It also has a built-in tea infuser if you’re a tea lover! Even bringing the bottle with you empty can be useful, so you can fill up at water fountains or water coolers wherever you go. A sturdy water bottle is an asset to any trip.

Blanket

Keeping a blanket in your car can be practical both for an emergency and for a fun outing. If you live in an area with cold temperatures for all or some of the year, a blanket can help keep you warm in the event that your car breaks down.

It can also be good for impromptu picnics, outdoor movies, or sporting events. With fall in full swing, that means football games, apple orchards, and all kinds of cool-weather outdoor events. Keeping a blanket in your car will help you be prepared for it all.

Your car goes on most of your adventures with you, so pack it full of things that will make your trips safer and more enjoyable. Depending on the types of things that you enjoy doing in your free time and what you do for a living, different items may be more useful for you than others.

But, there are a few things that just about everyone should have. Start with those items, and then start adding any items that will make your daily life easier. Eventually, you’ll be prepared for any situation.
