6 Basic Travel Tips

1. Travel tips about How much time do I need?

There’s no such thing as too much time, but there might be such a thing as too little, depending on what you want to get out of your trip. While you can circumnavigate the entire globe in just over a day and a half, you won’t see a whole lot that way. It’s a good idea to find out how much time you have before you start thinking about destinations. You’ll only be disappointed if you plan a trip, then won’t have time to do so.

2. Travel tips about How much money do I need?

Again, there’s no hard and fast right answer for this one. How much money you need depends on what type of trip you want to take. If you’re happy to stay in hostels rather than hotels, take ground transport rather than flights, and forgo fancy dinners out, you can travel pretty far for not much money at all. You can also save cash on flights by booking in advance.

3. Travel tips about Do I need to see the sights?

When you’re planning a trip, you’ll see and hear a lot of information about things you ‘have’ to see while you’re there. But then, while these sights have their reputation for a reason, there’s no such thing as a must-see. Take the trip you want to take and don’t feel pressured by feeling like you ‘should’ visit areas you’d rather skip.

4. How do I get around?

It’s a good idea to pick up guidebooks or navigational apps before you go to places, so you have an idea of what to expect, and how to get there before you arrive. Bigger cities may have apps such as Citymapper. For more remote areas, you may need a more analog solution. Don’t get stuck. Know what you’re getting yourself into.

5. Do I need to get insured?

In a word, yes. You may think that travel insurance is an unnecessary expense, but what would happen if you get sick? Or injured? Or sued? Or you miss a flight? Don’t take the risk. Get insurance that fits all your travel plans. If you have specific activities you’re planning to do while you’re away, make sure those are covered, too.

6. Can I travel alone?

Of course! While some trips are made all the more incredible by sharing the memories with friends or partners, traveling alone can be just as rewarding, if not more. You’ll be more able to plan your perfect trip without having to take others into account. Take the leap, and you won’t regret it
