Solo Female Travelers

  1. Have a Suitable Luggage For Travel

You don’t want to be one of those unfortunate people at the airport, who go through security, and their bag on wheels suddenly break on them. Nor do you want to be seen stumbling and having a tough time with your luggage. You need to have a sturdy baggage to survive the trip both ways. Moreover, you require good space and extra pockets for easy access while looking good. For me, the best carry-on bag by Briggs and Riley is CX
Commuter Spinner. Honestly, it is an all-rounder! It is small and easy to carry and I use it as my carry-on luggage because it is light and has 4 wheels that move in every direction. So, it literally follows you around wherever you take it like a puppy.

  1. Carry Only The Essentials When You Go Out

As you finally reach your destination, it is important to always have a few things when you’re out exploring and having fun. In my opinion, the main things to have at all times include some sort of identification, sunscreen, sunglasses, sanitizer, deodorant, sanitary napkins depending on the time of the month, a phone charger, spare money preferably in the local currency, and something small to defend yourself within the time of need. If you think you might need other things, here are a few things we have reviewed for you.

  1. Learn a Few Local Words

If you’re visiting a country that speak a different language, it would be a good idea to try and learn some local words before you arrive. This will help you with 4 things; learning a new language, relating to the locals, finding your way around, and blending in a little. Who doesn’t want to know the way to order a drink at the bar without taking ages only because the bartender cannot understand what you’re saying, or the right way to stop a cab, or even show your appreciation to someone.

  1. Make a Playlist

As a lonely female traveler, music always has an important role to help set the right mood and surround you with good vibes that make everything more fun. It brings people together. It also helps to fill in silences when you just want to lay back and save the talking for later and enjoy the moment. So, before you leave home, make a playlist of fun, upbeat and good songs that you would like to enjoy during the trip.

  1. Follow Your Instincts

As simple as this may sound, this is important. Follow what you think your body and mind are telling you. Even trusting the general vibe of what you’re doing or a place you’re at. If you feel uncomfortable somewhere, leave. If you think the hotel you’re staying at is ripping you off, move to another. If you feel you shouldn’t eat a specific local food, trust your gut and don’t eat it and save yourself from falling ill.
