5 Things to Do in Las Vegas

1. A day of Adventure in Red Rock Canyon National Park

When you visit Red Rock Canyon, you get to go on a 13-mile scenic drive just to get there. In it, you will be able to see what the region is really like and what it used to look like before the city was built. There is also a Visitor Center with information about all of the activities that can be done while visiting it. Some of them are hiking and bike trails, wildlife watching, identifying the local vegetation, learning about geology and culture, among others.

2. Visit its Unique Museums

Everywhere you go you in the world will probably find a history museum, a natural museum and some other showing the local culture. Las Vegas has those and some others that you will love. Some of them are The Mob Museum, with info about the impact of organized crime in the history of the city; The Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition; Madame Tussaud’s, with tons of wax museums of different celebrities and the Erotic Heritage Museum.

3. Walk across Hoover Dam

This might be a famous National Historic Landmark, not a lot of people have taken the chance to go on a walk across the highest concrete dam in the Western Hemisphere. The dam stands at more than 725 feet above the Colorado River. This is incredibly important for local communities (produces 4 billion kilowatts of electricity a year).

4. Hershey’s Chocolate World

It doesn’t matter if you are traveling with kids or not. 99% of the population loves chocolate, making this an awesome day trip for everyone. Hershey’s Chocolate World in Las Vegas is a huge two-story, 13,000-square-foot tribute to the country’s most famous chocolate producer.

5. Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat

The main event is their animal show, but when they are not performing you can also enter and see all of the animals from the show at their Secret Garden. They live in true luxury in their excellently tailored habitats that you will love.

There is even a 2.1-million-gallon tank where bottle-nose dolphins play and relax.

Bonus: Cosmetic treatments are another good reason, places like Francesca’s liquid facelifts can make a good place to visit for a day of pampering yourself.

There are many more things to do in the region, but these are definitely some of my favorite. Which unique destinations have you found in and around Las Vegas?
