Zip World Forest

Zip World Forest is perfect for those of you who are searching for an adrenalin-fuelled and action-packed day. The range of activities on offer is sure to get your blood pumping, as you soar through the treetops and speedily sledge through the stunning forest surroundings.

The Treetopnets are currently the highest in the world, towering above the ground at an impressive 18-metres high. The adventure is suitable for all the family, with nets, tunnels, and connecting tree houses taking you through the canopy of the beautiful Douglas Fir forest. You can all bounce, jump and run high above the forest floor, it is a day-out like no other!

For another exhilarating and energy-burning experience, children will love Tree Hoppers. They are invited to have a go at the course, where they will be testing their climbing and balance skills. There are hanging logs, a zip bridge, plank walking, and much more for them to attempt.

The Treetopnets are suitable for children 3+ years old. Tree Hoppers are suitable for children 5-12 years old. Depending on the age group, adults must accompany children. See the Zip World website for more details.

Best Family-Friendly Days Out in North Wales

Rhyl SeaQuarium

Situated on the stunning North Wales coastline, the Rhyl SeaQuarium has species from all corners of the globe. Each zone of the aquarium will take you through different habitats and environments, from the British Coast, Tropical and a Ship Wreck to the Deep Ocean. Your journey will not only be fun but also educational too, with regular talks and feeding times, interactive displays, and helpful and friendly staff on hand, there is an abundance of experiences and learnings to be enjoyed!

GreenWood Forest Park

GreenWood Forest Park offers visitors an all-around fun day out for the whole family (including your four-legged friends), away from the temptation of tablets, TVs, and games consoles. There is a broad range of exciting activities for all to get involved in, from roller coasters and treetops towers to an indoor play area! Or, why not challenge yourself to build a den? Or have a go at figuring out how to escape the boardwalk maze? There is a limitless amount of fun to be had at the park with so many attractions and things to do, visitors are spoiled for choice.

Puffin Island

North Wales and the surrounding islands are home to an abundance of wildlife. Puffin Island is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and although you can’t go onto the island, there are regular boat trips that will take you and your family to see the array of wildlife. There are Puffins, Guillemots, Razorbills, Cormorants, Shags, Fulmars and more. The skippers have a wealth of information about the birds and other wildlife on the island and will make the trip exciting for both young and old. Be sure to bring along your binoculars with you, as well as your sea legs!

Great Orme Cable Car Ride

The Great Orme is one of the most stunning locations in North Wales. The limestone headland is thought to be over 300-million years old and rises an impressive 207 meters out of the ocean! The sea cliffs are dotted with the resident goats as well as an array of rare flora and fauna. Admire the sights from the comfort of a cable car, which will take you and your family to the summit, where you can get out and explore and enjoy the sights from the top.
