24 Hours in Jaco, Costa Rica: One Day of Beach Activities

Today we’re going to be talking about 24h or one day in Jaco, Costa Rica. Are you guys ready for an adventure? Let’s begin.

24 Hours or One Day In Jaco

So you have 24 hours in Jaco Beach, here’s what you will most likely end up doing.

First and foremost, remember, Jaco is one of the closest beaches to San Jose, meaning it does get a lot of locals, but it’s not the upper-class locals. It’s not that it’s a bad thing, but Playa Jaco does have a little bit of a reputation for drugs and alcohol, so the nighttimes can get quite rowdy.

Surf and Classes

However, Jaco is really well known for its surf, so there are a lot of surfers there as well, and surfing schools and a place to go surfing in Costa Rica. It is not for the total beginner.  That’s why if you are a total beginner, I really recommend hiring an instructor. You could get an instructor really well-priced, and they will teach you, take you to the right breaks, and all that good stuff.

Water Sports

Jaco is mainly a water sports place, so you could definitely rent jet ski areas. You could go on sailing boats and whatnot as well, sailing catamarans as well. But it is definitely known for its surf.

Strolling Around

Then it has its main strip where all the restaurants are and the stores. So you’ll probably do quite a lot either for breakfast, for Costa Rican-style coffee, for lunch, or for strolling around.

So I recommend either enjoying the beach and doing beach activities, and finding a really nice hotel where you could have a good clean area because it can get a little bit dirty and maybe signing up for some cool water sports or learning how to surf.

How to Get There

Jaco is only about an hour and a half from the airport once you arrive, so it’s not that far from a drive. There are plenty of shuttles as well, and the majority of hotels have pickups. So this is the best thing to do when you are in Jaco.
