7 Cool Christmas Destinations to Enjoy and Play Poker

Christmas Destinations where you Can Also Play Poker

Las Vegas

Something would definitely be wrong if we didn’t have Las Vegas at the top of our list, right? Found in Nevada, Las Vegas is the place where gambling dreams are made. It’s home to a whopping 104 casinos, including the famous Bellagio, Treasure Island, and the Golden Nugget casino and resort.

31 casinos can be found on the strip, with a total of 43 in the immediate strip area, so you’ll never have to venture far to find a fantastic game of poker.

Christmas in Las Vegas simply offers an experience like nowhere else – you can watch the Fountains of Bellagio, enjoy all-you-can-eat buffets, and gamble the night away all on Christmas Day.

Nevada’s gambling revenues for July this year hit the $1 billion mark, so you know Las Vegas has to be impressive!

It is likely to be very busy around the Christmas period, but for an unforgettable experience, Vegas is the one.

Monte Carlo

Another gambling giant, Monte Carlo is the place to be for a slightly warmer and sunnier Christmas holiday destination.

Known as the home of James Bond, Monte Carlo is flashy, fun, and simply outrageous. If your love of poker is fueled by your love of supercars, superyachts, and super-suits, then this small yet amazing area of Monaco is the destination for you.

There are 4 casinos in Monte Carlo (which is pretty impressive for how small the area is) with over 985 slots to play and a total of 86 table games, including the best games of poker you’ll ever take part in.

We won’t lie that it will end up being a very expensive Christmas, but if you’re looking to flash the cash and hope to win big, we say go for it!

A little known gambling destination, Melbourne boasts 5 casinos with a total of 405 table games. The weather reaches highs of 75.2 degrees in December, promising a warm and sunny Christmas down other.

Choose to hit up one of the 45 tables at Melbourne Greyhound Poker Room, or try the free poker nights and lessons at the Poker Times Casino.

The Crown Casino is also amazing for poker with 50 tables spread across one huge room offering a number of games including Limit Holdem, No-Limit Holdem, Pot Limit Omaha, and Mixed Games.

When (or if) you get tired of poker or want to do something a little different during the day, there’s plenty to see in Melbourne – you could visit the Gingerbread Village, go to the Live Jazz Sundays at  South Wharf’s Bohemian Bar & Restaurant, or even check out Wally’s Christmas Photo Booth at The Carlton bar.

Once again, we’re chasing some European culture, and this time it’s in Barcelona, found in Catalonia, Spain.

Casino Barcelona can be found right beside the beach with plenty of table games including great poker to keep you busy, and it’s open 24 hours a day.

Other than that, hit up Golden Park for a whole stylish experience, including restaurants and bars, music, dancing, and special events.

There’s a whole host of events going on for Christmas 2019 in Barcelona.

It is important to note, however, that Christmas is a largely religious experience in Spain, so the majority of attractions and shops close on Christmas Day. Most reopen on boxing day, however, so you can use that Christmas spending money to try and win big!

Atlantic City

Found in New Jersey, Atlantic City is a much cheaper destination for Americans on this list. It’s often described as Vegas’ cousin in the East, and its no surprise with nine amazing casinos, including the Hard Rock Hotel Casino, but it is due to shut down for a year in 2020.

There are also a few other big names on the list where you’ll find plenty of tables to enjoy poker, including Borgata and Tropicana Atlantic City.

For a bustling Christmas experience jam-packed with shows special festive shows and amazing decorations, visit Atlantic City.

If you’d prefer a quieter Christmas experience, book during the week, bearing in mind that if you want to be there for Christmas day, that’s on a Wednesday this year.

The best holiday show is said to be found at Tropicana, although there’s also a full Santa Night at the Showboat Hotel and festive entertainment at Caesars.

Atlantic City also has some great casino restaurants, as explained by Gambling News Magazine.

While Atlantic City is described as the cousin of Las Vegas, Macau in China is described as the next Las Vegas.

This destination really is perfect for a once-in-a-lifetime poker holiday full of gambling and culture. The Venetian is the most notable casino in the area, but there’s also another 37 to choose from including MGM Macau, Wynn Macau, and City of Dreams.

Most of these are open 24 hours, so there’s plenty of time to get poker into your holiday!

The Venetian has 3400 slot games and 800 table games across 5,500sq ft of casino – it really is something you need to see for yourself.

The weather is great at Christmas, and a vast amount of casino hotels serve up a great traditional feast on Christmas day for all to enjoy.

Macau also retains a distinctly European flavor thanks to its Portuguese heritage, meaning the streets are packed with beautiful markets and decorations.

Lucian Marinescu, partner at OnlineCasinoGems, claims that Macau is amazing at Christmas. He said: “If you’re looking for somewhere a little different that still has the casino buzz and great poker games that will keep you on your toes, Macau is the place”.

Los Angeles

For some Hollywood glamour at Christmastime, hit up Los Angeles. The Commerce Casino is supposedly the ‘world’s largest poker casino’ with over 240 card tables, but we can guarantee a great experience at any of the other 8 casinos in the area, too.

Another great poker room can be found at the Hustler Casino, with 50 table games on offer.

And, when it’s time to have a break and cash in some of your winnings, there’s no shortage of shops to browse – especially on Rodeo Drive.

If you want to feel young again then you could visit Disneyland, and of course, you have to snap a few pics along the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

You can also take a looks at a list of family-friendly holiday destinations.
