I know that visiting mummies isn’t the ideal way of spending an exotic holiday, but this is part of Thai culture and it is definitely worth knowing more about it. First of all, Koh Samui has several mummified monks. Secondly, these are very well preserved and will manage to impress you. The most important one is the mommy of Luang Pordaeng which can be visited at Wat Khunaram. The monk died about 20 years ago, but its mummy is in really good condition. It shows little signs of decay.
