Antigua Guatemala is a colonial, small city surrounded by volcanoes. It is a small place filled with all kinds of stuff for every taste, there are beautiful hotels, handcraft markets, bars and restaurants. This time I want to focus on restaurants, here are my top 5:

1. Cafe de la Escalonia
Ever since I found Cafe de la Escalonia I fell in love with this beautiful open air restaurant located in what used to be a coffee farm. For me this is a great place to visit with kids. These guys also offer books, ornamental plants and local handcrafts. I really love it as a place for a family day out.
2. Chateau DeFay
Chateau DeFay is the only vineyard of Guatemala. You will find it minutes away from Antigua in a tiny old town. This is a great place that offers a miniature golf course, a wine tour that I really enjoyed and a decent restaurant.
Gaia is a beautiful Mediterranean style restaurant and is located in one of Antigua’s most popular areas: Calle del Arco. This restaurant serves lunch, dinner and drinks during the day. If you want some drinks and fun you can visit it during the night too.
