1. Cafe de la Escalonia

Ever since I found  Cafe de la Escalonia I fell in love with this beautiful open air restaurant located in what used to be a coffee farm. For me this is a great place to visit with kids. These guys also offer books, ornamental plants and local handcrafts. I really love it as a place for a family day out.

2. Chateau DeFay

Chateau DeFay is the only vineyard of Guatemala. You will find it minutes away from Antigua in a tiny old town. This is a great place that offers a miniature golf course, a wine tour that I really enjoyed and a decent restaurant.

3. Gaia

Gaia is a beautiful Mediterranean style restaurant and is located in one of Antigua’s most popular areas: Calle del Arco. This restaurant serves lunch, dinner and drinks during the day. If you want some drinks and fun you can visit it during the night too.

Ah man! Wish this had been out two weeks ago when I was there! I’ve actually eaten at a couple of these but would have loved to try the others. Guess I have to go back now 🙂

    • Now you have to come back!!! These are just the tip of the iceberg!

Your pictures are amazing, it looks like you had one great trip. We just went to Atitlan, but weren’t able to canoe or kayak it was too rough.
