Spotlight Costa Rica – Namuwoki Lodge & Resort in Puerto Viejo

Namuwoki Lodge & Resort is located in Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica. It is a small, private hotel right in the middle of the forest from where you will be able to see the local wildlife by just going out to the garden. The hotel consists of 7 independent small houses, perfect for a family, groups of friends and honeymooners.

I have to tell you that I fell in love with this place, especially with the room’s decoration. It was so simple and beautiful, with a cozy feel. I loved swinging on the hammock in the afternoon.

Within the hotel’s property you will also find a swimming pool with bar service, a small handcraft store and an open air area where you can have lunch or dinner.

Also the staff will always have a smile on their faces. They are very friendly and nice.

But Puerto Viejo is more than just a place where the white-sanded beaches melt with the forest it is also Cahuita National Park. A great place to go searching for some local wildlife. So even if you are staying in this great place go out for a walk, who knows, maybe you will have a close encounter with a monkey.

Here’s what people have to say about them and if you don’t believe them, I dare you to try it!

We spent 1 Week in Namuwoki Lodge and were thought they were the most memorable days of our 2 week trip to Costa Rica!

The spacious cabins are surrounded by huge rainforest vegetation. Filled with a variety of Bird species, monkeys etc.

Very relaxing atmosphere, friendly and very helpful staff! Anything you need organized for your travels, they will arrange it.

The breakfast by the pool is the best!

We will definitely go back whenever in Costa Rica

And

We stumbled upon PARADISE!!!!……I had found Namuwoki on the internet before we departed for our trip, but we had thought from the website it was too far out of the way.

It wasn’t, it was actually nicer to be farther away from Puerto Viejo, which was only a ten minute taxi ride.

Their website does not accurately display the beauty of the grounds, and how great the bungalows are.

While we were on the road searching for a hotel, we came across the sign for Namuwoki. Francisco and his wife Marivel were extremely kind and welcoming. The grounds were like our own private jungle, with every type of flower, and plant you can imagine. The bungalows were very beautiful and clean and designed with simple elegance. It was like our own little house in the middle of a spectacular jungle. They also had a very nice pool that was always spotless.

We were planning on staying only three nights, we ended up staying seven.

Towards the end of our stay we discovered Francisco was a guide, with much knowledge of ecological preservation. We went with him on a tour at night to see the Paola Tortugas……it was an awesome experience, and one of the most spectacular things I have ever seen in my life!
My friends and I decided we would travel all the way to Costa Rica again, just to stay at Namuwoki!!!
