How to See the American Crocodiles in Costa Rica?
If you’re in Costa Rica to see some animals, and heading to the popular beaches of Jaco or Manuel Antonio, you WILL pass the Tarcoles River. Crossing over the bridge and looking down, you will do one of three things:
1. Stare in awe at the magnificent creatures that are less than 15 feet below you.
2. Vomit from fear.
3. Run for your life and then vomit from fear.
We decided on No. 1. Even though, if my son got too excited and decided to get a closer look by practically falling over the bridge, we couldn’t peel ourselves away from the awesome site.
Tarcoles River has the largest population of American Crocodiles in the Northern Hemisphere, and it feels like you are part of a National Geographic Documentary.
