My Bucket List

Bucket Lists are fantastic! They are vision boards and goals that you want to achieve in life.

But let’s face it. Just like with goals if you put down the biggest goal without the small parts of how to get there, it becomes overwhelming and practically unachievable. To me that’s exactly the way I feel about the ’1001 things to do before you die life lists’. In the end it depresses me that I barely made a dent into my life goals!

My solution, focus on the reality and have bucket lists that you can achieve and then add on to them. This will empower you as you cross off the goals (fun things) and will motivate you to do more and more.

MY BUCKET LIST(S)

Nicaragua

• Leon (hotels: El Convento and La Perla), Central Park, Visit the Largest Cathedral in Central America
• Ometepe Island – Totoco Eco Lodge, Horseback ride, Santo Domingo Beach, watch the sunset over the volcano
• Granada – Horseback ride, private tour of islets of granada, Bacona Hotel, Dario Hotel, eat fritango
• Masaya Volcano, shop at the largest market of Nicaragua

Guatemala

• Antigua – Canopy Tour, Pacaya Volcano, Reunion Golf Course, buy Jade Mask – replica of the one found, romantic dinner, visit the central market, camp at Earth Lodge, spend the night on Volcano Acotenango and Fuego, Kid’s Restaurant for Dinner
• Lake Atitlan – Panajachel, visit Moximon, boat ride to the villages, stay at Hotel Atitlan, Stay at Don Rodrigo, Stay in Santiago,
• Tikal and Flores - visit Tikal ruins, stay at a lake front hotel, see the sunset, go to ARCAS
• Mirador Mayan ruins – Helicopter Tour
• Chichicastenango – December 21 festival of flying Mayan priest, visit the church and see a shaman ritual
• Holidays – Day of the Dead Kite Festival and Semana Santa in Antigua,
  Eat Local food: Fiambre, Tamales, Pepian, Jocon
• Livingston – Seven Altars Waterfalls, Playa Blanca, Punta Montibique

Honduras

El Salvador

• Suchitoto – stay at Posado de Suchitlan, Stay at Los Almendros, do the boat tour of Lake Suchitlan, get a cowboy hat, eat a pupusa
  
• Balsamo Coast Beaches – visit La Libertad fishing pier and eat fresh ceviche, buy from a local artist
• Playa Tunco – surf lessons for my son and my husband, have a drink watching the sunset over the horizon, stay at Tekunikal hotel
• Playa Sunzal – surf lessons, boogy board lessons, eat at Betos restaurant, stay at a vacation rental house on the beach
• Playa El Zonte – have lunch at a cool restaurant

Cuba

• Havana – Havana Centro, Havana Vedado, Havana Vieja, Havana Miramar
• Eat and Stay – Stay in a Casa Paricular (Casa Habana 1932), Eat at a Paladar, eat at Hector’s Pizza place, eat ice cream at Coppelia, Drink a real Cuban Mojito with Cuban rum
• Try something local – smoke a cuban cigar, hang out at Malecon,  buy art from a local artist on Callejon de Hamal, visit a cuban market
• Places to visit – Plaza de Armas, El Morro the Fortress, Museum de Revolucion, visit a cigar factory, tropicana night club
• Transportation of Cuba – ride in a classic car, ride in a coco taxi
