Its name means ‘where the river goes underground’. But actually what happens here is that half of the water from the river goes underground and the other half goes above creating beautiful turquoise pools. It is located really close to Cobán, in the Alta Verapaz Department of Guatemala.

Semuc Champey, called Guatemala’s Natural Wonder, is a perfect spot to explore the surrounding forests in search for local wildlife & go for a swim in one of the many pools!
