Santiago is the biggest village of Atitlan Lake in Guatemala. This area is known for being home to the famous Mayan God ‘Maximon’. As a pretty interesting contrast, it is also home to around 35 catholic churches, one of them is known as Guatemala’s oldest church - built in 1547.

The best way to get here is by boat.  Once there, make sure you find Maximon & witness a chaotic ritual in honor of this god. You won’t be disappointed!
