Cuban Cigars For International Travellers
Helpful Cigar Buying Information
Apart from its cheerful high octane music and scenic beaches, Cuba is famous for producing high quality cigars. They come in a range of sizes and emit a range of delicious smells. However, if you’re not a native of the pretty Caribbean island then it can be difficult deciding which cigars to try and which specialist shops to visit. This article, contributed by Directline Holidays, is designed to assist those travellers who fancy a puff during holidays in Cuba.
The Best Cuban Cigar Shops
Havana, also known as the ‘Key to the New World’, is the destination of choice for the world’s cigar aficionados. Those people who are in the know stop off at La Casa Del Habano, a cigar shop run by knowledgeable and friendly staff. Here you can buy a wide selection of cigars, for enjoyment in the dedicated smoker’s lounge.

The Miramar is another highly regarded cigar shop, located on the outskirts of Havana. It is owned by a friendly local gentleman who is only too happy to engage visitors in cigar based conversation. You might even be tempted to sit outside and take in the fabulous local views while smoking one of the freshly rolled cigars.
Concerning The Types Of Cigars
It’s worth trying different cigars before setting off on holidays to Cuba. That way you can be sure of spending your money wisely. Generally speaking, it’s best to start off with a light Romeo Y Julietta or Connoisseur No.1 before moving on to the heavy grade La Punta or Sir Winston varieties. Even if you don’t like the flavour of cigars you can still look forward to wonderful days out in the Cuban sunshine!

I have heard of Romeo y Julietta, it is a Churchill cigar and is considered one of the best in the world… I think. I would love to try some real Cuban cigars… I am curious if I could taste any difference between them.

Visiting Cuba has always been one of my sweetest dreams. I’d love to see how cigars are rolled and to enjoy a good cigar there, in the original conditions of humidity.

that was one of my dreams too, to see how cigars are made. Funny enough all the cigar factories were closed when we were there, this woman works there year round and we are told this is how they work in the factories too.
