Me and adrenaline tours simply don’t mix. My husband and sons are the adventure junkies in our family. But when it comes to tours in Arenal, if you don’t do the canyoneering tour with Desafio, you haven’t fully lived!

 

Canyoneering Adventure Tours in Arenal, La Fortuna – step-by-step:

First we got picked up at our hotel in a comfy bus and then transfered over to a 4×4 jeep.

Next, we got geared up and ready to go and were explained the rules of the game – which are quite simple, you just gotta do it!

Next the hikes to the four waterfalls. After doing the rappelling, if you can believe it, I found the hiking to be the most challenging. But again, I’m by far Mrs. Adventure! But I will admit, it was super fun.

There are four waterfalls in total. They vary from 25 meters all the way to 250 meters. The guides take excellent care of you and really secure you.

Ready! Set!

Go!

And keep on going – the 250 meter waterfall simply didn’t feel like it will end!

Definitely get this on your to-do list while visiting Arenal area. The tour is recommend for 13 and up. But there were a couple of very fit, adventurous 11 year olds. So it’s up to you and your children.
