If you don’t do a canopy tour in Costa Rica, you truly haven’t experienced the adventure part of this country.

The best zipline tour, not only in Arenal and La Fortuna, but Costa Rica is Skytrek and tram and now skywalk as well.

If you’re not up to the flying through the sky part, you can simply enjoy a more relaxed version via the skytram. Either way, you have to go on this rainforest gondola to get to the top where the views are so breathtaking that you simply can’t stop muttering – ‘wow, this isn’t real!’

It is though, and I was so lucky to have had the opportunity to take it all in – well almost, the volcano wasn’t showing her face that morning. But gratefully I got amazing views the night before.

At the top of the look out you get a sweeping view of over 90% of Arenal Lake.

Just recently, they added hanging bridges. So you not only get to fly but you can also walk through the canopy of the rainforest.

After you’ve done the tour (adventure or not) you can head back down and check out the butterfly gardens.

I did this with a tour guide and learned so much. She pointed out stuff that I would never ever have seen. Like these butterfly eggs. I bet you couldn’t spot them either.
