Monteverde’s wide selection of hotels can be totally daunting when you start to look for options.
However, it doesn’t have to be hard at all. From my family’s personal travel experiences I have realized hotels, like people, have character and personality. That is exactly what pulls me to hotels.
Where to Stay in Costa Rica – What Fonda Vela Hotel of Monteverde has to Offer that others don’t:
Pool and trails– for Monteverde region having a pool is a big deal. Very few hotels offer this amenity and when you’re traveling with kids, it can really be a great perk. Although, trails on the property isn’t that unique, it’s great to know your kids can around around the property exploring and be totally safe!
Small Resort style – most of the hotels in this region are smaller cabin style hotels, with a few exceptions of large resorts. Fonda Vela is smack dab in the middle. For those looking for the resort comforts, but yet still the small feel. This is a great place to be!
Restaurant – the food here, is quite good. They specialize in international fare, but do offer some local dishes to try. But it’s super convenient when you have food right on the property since Monteverde isn’t a walking around town.
Fonda Vela is mid price range, with a lovely property and great views of the cloud forest. Plus, it’s close enough to all the attractions there are in this region.
