San Pedro is the largest town on Ambergris Caye, which is considered the most popular destination to visit in Belize. With the white sanded beaches, palm trees, great diving and crystal clear waters it’s easy to see why. As you can imagine a great number of options for a hotel in Ambergris Caye are located in this town.

This was one of the first things I learned, San Pedro is saturated with hotels and viewing them online is hard to see which is good for you. Especially to know which are located on the beach, away from the noise, but still close to everything.

Here is what I think of the hotel in Ambergris Caye that we stayed:

Blue Tang had the right mix for it all. They had their own beach, it wasn’t private, but it was positioned in such a way that it felt like it was. They were a few minutes walking distance from the fun, but total tranquility inside the rooms.

The hotel is small with a lot of homey touches that makes is just adorable to stay in. Plus, the staff is very VERY attentive and are always around to help. The rooms are quite spacious and all have a full kitchen with a sitting area to eat and also with a futon bed that pulls out to be super comfortable.

What we loved most of all, was the pier. All the tours come and get you just a few steps away from the hotel.

Every morning they offered a tasty and varied continental breakfast that you can enjoy either in your room, or right on the beach watching the local life in action.
