My brother, a photo junkie, is extremely into his camera. He refuses to get it cleaned professionally, in fear that they will ruin his lens. So he was very excited when I gave him the Delkin Devices Sensor Scope and Digital Duster.

Here is what he told me as I monitored him:

This cleaning apparatus is used for cleaning a DSLR camera’s sensor. A camera sensor is something a regular person would usually be afraid to touch, but as time goes on, it will get dirty and will need to get cleaned.

Typically, people would either ignore it and let their picture quality suffer, or bring it to be professionally cleaned (and pay a high premium). The Delkin Devices Sensor Cleaner bills itself as “the safest and most effective system for cleaning your digital SLR image sensor,” and it did not disappoint.

It comes with simple instructions to follow that allows anybody to clean their camera sensor. It includes a sensor scope, which is a specially made illuminated magnifying glass to clearly see the dust and dirt on the sensor.

It also includes a safe and easy to use vacuum to clean the dirt off the sensor. After removing the dirt, there is a cleaning solution and cleaning “wands” to use on the sensor. Then, you finish by using the brush to polish the surface and clear the edges. It works wonderfully, and makes what appears to be a dangerous task simple, safe, and effective.
