Guatemalan Typical Food Fair – Disorder At It’s Best

Every country boasts it’s typical food. Guatemala is no different. We had a food fair where the majority of the restaurants of Antigua got together and put out their best Guatemalan Typical food dishes.

Before arriving the promo said it starts at 10:30. Since I’m not a big morning eater, we decided to arrive at noon. Which was almost perfect, we arrived and were told that they food people were still not ready and to wait an extra 15 minutes. What if we arrived at 10:30 like it read?

The room was chaos, no one knew where to pay or who to pay. Once they opened the stalls, the lines were coming out of everywhere on one side and completely empty on the other. Not following the crowd we checked out the empty side, which offered the exact same food as the manic one.

Overall, the food was sub-par, but a great way to see all of Guatemala‘s top dishes in one place.
