La Perla Hotel – Luxury Hotel in the Heart of Leon, Nicaragua
On our last night in Nicaragua we had a grand farewell by staying in La Perla Hotel which is located right in the heart of Leon!
Before arriving I knew that this was a 4 star hotel and from the pictures online we had an idea of the refurbished mansion we would be staying at. But it still a great treat when you arrive and the pictures don’t do the hotel justice.

This building is a perfect example of neoclassical style architecture with a central courtyard dominated by marble lion fountains and the best part for my son – a pool.

What I loved the most is that our room came with robes to lounge out in and it’s proximity to the bustling center of Leon – the largest Cathedral in Central America and it’s central park. The streets that are filled with people enjoying a sunny afternoon during the busiest time of the year – Semana Santa and all the restaurants.
Our room was cozy, although I would have preferred to have windows for a view and the choice to open it for fresh air.

La Perla is also the owner of a Casino which is right in front. When we first arrived the speakers were working full blast, but once inside our room we didn’t hear it all.
Every morning you get a choice of 3-4 different breakfast options which is a great way to start the day.

On whole the hotel is quite lovely, but I felt it a little cold. The staff was a bit withdrawn and the #1 thing I look for is the friendliness of the place. Which I feel could have added to the comfort of our stay.
Thank you very much Valeska Granera for the invite.

The central courtyard of this hotel is really beautiful, but the dinning room seems a bit dull… Some hotels cannot have 5 stars only because they dont have a poll.
I’ll be honest with you, I stayed in hotels that don’t have the star system in Leon and were way way better! This hotel was just adequate.
