I apologize for the delay in response, things here have been very hectic since we’ve returned!

I can not thank you enough for all of your help in planning our vacation. We had SO much fun! And everything that you arranged and recommended worked out perfectly!

We loved the car, it was a Daihatsu Terios. It was perfect for us, just the right size and four wheel drive (and of course cute!). And the Adobe representative was friendly and punctual. The drive to Monteverde was the most challenging of the trip, as the main highway was closed because of a rock slide. Our Garmin redirected us on a sometimes questionable route, but we made it there! And having to drive THROUGH a small stream was definitely a memorable part of the trip .

We loved Monteverde. That was probably the most adventurous leg of our trip. The drive was ‘adventurous’ in itself , and we loved the Sky trek tours. Ziplining in the cloud forest was terrifying, but fantastic! It was kind of rainy and very misty, so on the higher altitude lines we could only see a couple hundred feet or so; so we could see the canopy below us, but we just zipped off into the mist and disappeared! It was an extremely unique experience, and an incredible adrenaline rush! But we always felt safe and had a great time. The lower altitude lines were absolutely beautiful! And the walking/hanging bridge tour was interesting, educational, and beautiful as well. El Sapo Dorado hotel was very nice. We really appreciated the fireplace, especially after coming back from Skytrek soaked and chilly!

The weather was somewhat uncooperative at Arenal, but we had a great time nonetheless. Los Lagos was beautiful, and we had a fabulous view of the volcano from our room, although it was covered by clouds for most of our time there. We loved the thermal pools, and had so much fun on the water slides! The Cano Negro tour was great, we saw tons of wildlife. Our guides were incredible at spotting things. My mom said she saw more and learned more on that tour than she had in the entire two weeks she had spent in Costa Rica before.

The Caribbean side was great as well. We spend time in Manzanillo, Puerto Viejo and Cahuita. We loved Korrigan Lodge. Ingrid and Erwan were so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The size of the cabin worked out fine for us! We had Thanksgiving dinner right on Arrecife beach, and didn’t miss the traditional dinner at all! We had delicious seafood dishs and pineapple flambe for dessert. And of course drank Imperial beer! We visited the Jaguar Rescue Center while we were there, which I would definitely recommend. There’s something really fun about 9 baby monkeys climbing all over you! We also visited the Sloth Sanctuary, which was good as well. While driving around the Monteverde area we came across a sloth sanctuary and visited that one. It is run by the same people, and had just opened 12 days earlier. It was good that we went to both sanctuaries, as our guide in Monteverde is the owners’ grandson and he was very informative. So between the two of them, and being able to hold baby sloths at Jaguar Rescue Center, and spotting several sloths in the wild at Cano Negro, our tree house, and at Korrigan, I think we got the most complete sloth experience available!

Again, I can’t thank you enough for all of your help. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The only problem that I have now is that I can’t wait to go back and see more of the country!
