The beautiful town of Quepos is the getaway to the Manuel Antonio National Park and in it you will find lots of hotels, restaurants and bars. The town is named for the native Quepoe tribe that inhabited the place in the colonial era.

This is also a well known area among sport fishers.

Did You Know?

Before colonization and tourism the Quepoa Indians lived off the rich, fertile land. After the 1800′s settlers transformed this land into banana plantations and built docks to ship bananas worldwide. The banana plantations where replaced with African oil-palms in 1980’s. Today, those docks are used for the sport-fishing industry.

177 km. (110 miles) southwest of San Jose, on the Pacific coast

Weather

Warm and humid with light sea breezes.
Dry season: December to April.
Temperatures: Average 69-89° F
