This is a fun tour I went on with my family in our recent visit to El Salvador. I thought it was really fun. First we were taken to the Tourist Center in the San Juan Port early in the morning. Here we got some time to see the local art in the handcraft shops.

Minutes after we boarded a ship and went on a relaxing ride along the Suchitlan Lake, which by the way is El Salvador’s largest lake. Finally we got to the Bird Island, which is a natural reserve where we saw tons of different species of birds. I bet birdwatchers would go crazy here. This boat trip lasts about 1 hour.

When we got back to the Tourist Center we got some more free time that we used to try some of the different typical dishes of its restaurants. Then we were taken back to the hotel.

Over all I had a lot of fun riding along the lake, watching birds and getting to know traditional El Salvadoran dishes.
