Pension Bonifaz is a family owned and kid friendly cozy hotel nested on an old colonial house. It’s been on the business since 1935 and has become one of the best hotels in town. It also has one of the best locations of Xela (Quetzaltenengo Department of Guatemala) because it’s right across the Central Park.

Since it was first opened this hotel has grown a lot and now offers 75 cozy rooms with 5 different options: Double rooms, Singles, Large singles, junior suites and a presidential suite. Our room was spacious, had hot water, tv/cable and wall to wall carpeting. The decoration wasn’t luxury instead the rooms were quite simple but cute and comfortable.

A thing that really stood out about this hotel was the food. It was so delicious. I could have never expected such a meal. There was also an unusual thing, a swimming pool. In a place with such a cold climate is not common to find one but this one was indoors and had a decent temperature and my son really enjoyed it. Staff was very friendly too.

I’m glad I stayed here, it made our experience in Xela a lot better.
