Hotel Casa Santo Domingo is a luxury hotel located right in the main street of Antigua Guatemala. Just half a block to the main entrance to this Colonial City and 10 minutes on foot away from the Central Park. This is a beautiful 21 year old family friendly hotel with 129 beautifully decorated rooms of different sizes. In my opinion this is a great hotel with a restaurant where the serve absolutely delicious food and is in the middle of an old church’s ruins.

All over the hotel you will find some weird and some beautiful art pieces but they also have a museum filled with stuff that was found when building this hotel (in colonial times it used to be a convent that got destroyed by earthquakes). From time to time there are also some other art exhibitions. Recently I went to a classic cars exhibition where they had over 200 of them. It was great!

I was there for a wedding too and wow I loved the decoration so much. This kind of event can take place in their event room or up in the beautiful gardens of El Cerro (a small mountain that surrounds Antigua).

I live really close to Hotel Santo Domingo but I wanted to have the whole experience so we stayed there in a suite and it was beautiful. The colonial decoration was beautiful I really loved the room. I think honeymooners would love it because at night with candles it looks so romantic. I also liked the service, they really make an effort to do all you need.

I have been here a couple of times and have really enjoyed it even when I’m there only for a meal with my family.
