Carnaval as the Costa Rican pronounce it is an annual event held every October and was celebrated in Limon, Costa Rica in honor of the arrival of Christopher Columbus.

It was a unique Tico celebration for Culture Day as it lasts for two weeks and was really a big celebration in the region and people are wearing colorful dresses while dancing in the street to tropical rhythms much more like a “Mardi Gras” to a Caribbean beat.

What can you expect during the festival:

It was like a fair especially at night where everything is outside, they have booth for foods, bars and a dance floor is on every street.

.Spanish pop and reggae can be heard all over the place.

You’ll have the opportunity to taste real authentic Caribbean food like rice and beans and pollo de coco.
