Family Travel – Swimming with the Family in Xocomil Waterpark, Guatemala
Last week I talked about my wonderful family travel in Xetulul, a fantastic theme park in Guatemala. But that was only half of the story. Because Xetulul has a sister called Xocomil Water Park and they are right next to each other.

We visited Xocomil the next day after we went to Xetulul and it surprised me. The place has many pools for kids with water slides and places where they can have some fun without adults having to run after them all the time. I know because my son loved running around and playing in those pools.

There are also huge water slides for adults that looked pretty scary but the truth is that they turned out to be a lot of fun. It is said that these are some of the best water slides in Central America.

There are also some other interesting and fun rides for the whole family such as a rafting water slide, a pool with artificial waves and artificial rivers where you can hop on a canoe and paddle for a while or just relax while you float. This was the perfect family trip.

All the pools are in the middle of a beautiful garden. Plus in the center of everything you will see a representation of an old Mayan temple that is used as a restaurant.

My advice if you are coming here is: a camera, a towel and sunscreen will do. You will be running up and down of rides and going in and out of the pools so leave all unnecessary things in the locker at the entrance because who wants to sit on a table looking at how much fun everyon’s having while taking care of stuff no one will use.
